Angee + Cliff | Little Goat Diner Wedding | Chicago, IL

The story of how they met proves you should always say yes to adventure. Angee had planned a vacation to Southeast Asia with a travel group. Cliff signed up for the same excursion. They both almost didn’t go for different reasons and both last minute decided, what the heck, just GO FOR IT. Best decision each of them has ever made. They met in Vietnam on that trip and fell in love. Cliff is from Australia and Angee the Midwest. So tons of flights back and forth and long distance was the way. It’s kind of amazing to think of the bond you have to have to endure such difficult distance, but when you complete each other as perfectly as they do, you’d do anything for love. They are super fun and chill. I was very excited about shooting a wedding in the city. Chicago has about a million neat corners and alleys and walls, you could take photos there forever and never get bored of the scenery. We spent the afternoon hitting up a few places around the neighborhood near the restaurant where they were getting married in the evening. Their wedding was small and lovely. The warm July sun was gorgeous and just right. I loved how casual their ceremony spot was. Their guests got to sit on little stools and lounge on couches with cocktails in hand as they said their vows. So cozy and great. We all enjoyed the time on the roof as the sun went down before heading in for dinner and speeches. The dinner at Little Goat was spectacular. It was probably the best wedding meal I’ve ever had (so thank you for that!). A few family members and friends got up to tell stories about Angee and Cliff and talk about how remarkable their relationship has been and will be in the future. Each speech was touching and highlighted how Angee and Cliff are really an inspiration of love. I got teary as Angee’s family welcomed Cliff to America and to their family, as well as when Cliff’s family assured him and Angee that no matter what country they decide to call home, they’re always home with family. It was a fantastic day and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it all. Everyone was so kind and fun and wonderful to talk to. Thanks so much for everything. I wish you all the best. Cheers!
