May 2nd was the kickoff to our wedding season for 2015 and it started with a destination wedding. We packed up the car for the 650 mile trip to Hendersonville, TN, just outside of Nashville. David, my cousin and the groom, has lived in Kentucky and the surrounding area for as long as I can remember. Our families didn’t get to see much of each other growing up because of the distance. But as it is with family, when we arrived to Hendersonville for the rehearsal dinner it was all jokes and laughter and hugs. It’s such a special honor to photograph any wedding, but even more so for people that are dear to you. It was so nice to be able to spend intimate time with David and Janelle on their wedding day, getting to know them better than we’d really be able to at our usual one time a year get together at Christmas. Their wedding was so put together and personal and really reflected who they are. It was bright and sweet and filled with so much love. After the reception, everyone sent them off in sparkling fashion. We then rode with the newlyweds to downtown Nashville to take some night photos in their favorite parts of town. They were like celebrities, countless bachelorettes coming up to Janelle oooing and ahhhing over her gorgeous gown, envious that it was her special day. We had such a blast with them and took photos until nearly one in the morning. It was a long day, but when you are constantly having a great time, loving what your capturing and who you are surrounded by, it’s not a day of work at all. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Hanna. We love you two!
