I’m always amazed when I meet with couples and they tell me they’re inviting over 200 people to their wedding. Like, how do you know that many people who you’re close with enough to invite them into the most special day of your life? Kate and Brad invited 400. I thought, there’s just no way you could have that many close family and friends you’d want to celebrate with. At least I couldn’t gather that many people in my life even if I wanted to. They had almost everyone they invited show up. They had to put extra rows of chairs in the church because there weren’t enough pews. At their reception they had 44 tables of guests. We did the thing where the DJ plays a song and we attempt to run from table to table to get photos with every single guest at the wedding. I thought it was going to be a long shot to get them all in and accomplish it, but we did it. What amazed me more than the numbers or how big the room was, was that every last person there was SO happy and SO supportive and SO in love with Kate and Brad. I’ve never seen a big wedding where you truly felt that every single person there was a couple’s best friend. It was honestly amazing and super inspiring. It was the single thing that really stuck with me from their wedding day and it speaks volumes about who these two are. They are kind and empathetic and fun and adventurous and humorous and down to earth and passionate and the list could go on and on. They’re just the best of what human character has to offer and in getting to spend time with them and learn that about them I shouldn’t have been surprised at all at the massive crowd they had cheering them on, crying and laughing with them and getting down on the dance floor. What a day with incredible people. Thank you for letting us into such a tremendously joyous day and for opening your hearts up to us. It was so fun and a real honor to be a part of it all.
