Shelley + Benito | The Fields Reserve | Stoughton, WI

You would have thought this wedding happened over the course of many days. We had it all on Shelley and Benito’s wedding. Sunshine, wind, an afternoon blizzard and then then most blazing and beautiful sunset April in Wisconsin has ever seen. I love that these two got to have a whole world within their day because they deserve it. A common thread during the speeches was how nice these two are. Nice doesn’t really sum it up though. They’re kind, gentle, fun, caring, steady, lovers, best friends, teachers…the list could go on and on. They met in teacher training playing a game about personal space and Benito kept leaning into Shelley’s personal space to see when she’d be uncomfortable. Turns out that little lesson on a person’s bubble didn’t quite work out as planned because Shelley didn’t want to stay away. They were meant to be and it’s so evident. Two of my favorite moments from the day happened immediately after the ceremony. The way Shelley looked at Benito as they exited the ceremony space and then the way he grabbed onto the ring, fresh on his finger and twisted it while looking at Shelley as if to say, “finally, I’m your husband and it feels so good”. All around just the sweetest day with two people who I couldn’t be happier for. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Alvarado!
