Emily + Jaryd | St. Francis Xavier and Wilderness Resort Wedding | Cross Plains, WI and Wisconsin Dells, WI

Emily and Jaryd were married Saturday at St. Francis Xavier in Cross Plains. I had never been there before and WOW! What a gorgeous place. The light was beautiful and they were married in front of a large congregation of family and friends. There were a lot of familiar faces among the crowd which always is so much fun. When we left the church it was drizzling. I usually check the weather religiously on a wedding day and this rain kinda came out of nowhere. I was eyeing the radar on the drive up to Baraboo and it looked like it was going to stop when we got there. It did. I was so happy we didn’t have to change our plans because Devil’s Lake was an incredible backdrop for photos. And because it had been a little drizzly and it was unseasonably cold for August (which was actually great!) we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. We spent some time there hanging out by the water and then took a small hike on Tumbled Rocks Trail for some more portraits. Their reception was at the Wilderness and I had the same reaction when I got there- Wow! Emily’s brother (and others) helped deck that place out with lights galore and rustic touches. It was perfect and so them. The speeches were great, I think more than a few people were teary eyed and there was much laughing, dancing and drinking. When the bride and groom share their first dance to a song called “It All Started With A Beer” you know it’s going to be one heck of a party. Thanks so much for sharing the day with us and for letting us enjoy your reception as much as we did! We had to have a beer before we left to toast to you guys! It was a wonderful day and we are so happy for you two. Thanks again for waiting for this preview until I got back into town to edit! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ellenbecker!
