Close your eyes and picture a wedding. What does it look like? The setting, attire, decorations? I would venture a guess that what most people think of when asked these questions is not what Mel and Jake’s wedding looked and like on Saturday. You probably don’t think of piñatas and sneakers and lime green shirts and googly eyes for a wedding day. But you know what- it was the most wedding-est wedding ever. Because it doesn’t matter at all what you THINK a wedding is. A wedding is whatever you want it to be and Mel and Jake did it so freakin’ well. They are kids at heart. Mel got Jake a flippin’ bouncy house for the wedding as a gift! I love how fun loving they are and they don’t take themselves too seriously. Their playground, bubble blowing, lawn game, pasta bar wedding was a complete reflection of their personalities and their love for each other. They show each other love by endless jokes and razzing- with walking each other down the aisle and sticking their tongues out when their vows were through (which had to be edited a bit because Jake loves profanity 🙂 ). I loved how much their day reminded me that weddings can be a big production- time wise, stress wise, money wise- but it doesn’t have to be at all. At the end of the day it’s all about having a good time and sharing a special moment with those you love. Thank you so much for sharing your day with me. It was beautiful and heartfelt and funny and fun-loving! You guys really are perfect for each other and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of the day. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the party and I hope nobody got too hurt during the bounce house racing! Congratulations!!
