Mariah + Nate | Four Points by Sheraton Wedding | Brown Deer, WI

If you were out at all on Saturday then you know what kind of day it was. Gray, windy, wet with nothing but thunderstorms and flash flood warnings in the forecast all day long. I came prepared to Mariah and Nate’s wedding to have a difficult day spoiled by the bad weather. I got there a little early and bought extra umbrellas as the torrential downpour pummeled the windshield. If this was my wedding day I don’t know if I’d be super happy. I got to where the girls were getting ready and Mariah was as calm as a cucumber. She wasn’t worried about it at all. That made me feel much less nervous about what we were going to do to make sure we got fabulous photos even though all our outdoor location ideas were being spoiled. She was happy and just ready to marry Nate. He’s a bit on the quiet side and I wasn’t really sure what to expect out of him but the second he saw Mariah come down that aisle the tears started flowing. Mariah was crying too. You could see how happy they were even if their faces weren’t smiling ear to ear. After the “i dos” we planned on wedding party photos and I could not believe it wasn’t raining. We made the most of the outside time we had. Who said a parking lot can’t be beautiful and full of love?! They were effortless in each other’s arms and so excited to finally have those rings on their fingers. I absolutely love to see newlyweds all giddy like they get right after the ceremony. It’s the freshest kind of love and affection. Their reception hall was decked out with roses and twinkling lights- just the fairy tale they had imagined. Some of their guests were the best I’ve seen on the dance floor. I think I picked up a few moves I’ll have to try out next time I’m a wedding guest 🙂 .
