Felicia + William | Opsal’s Ridge Farm Wedding | Blue Mounds, WI

I only met Felicia and William a week or so before their wedding. They contacted me a long time ago about photographing their wedding and it was one of those that seemed so far away on the calendar and then the next thing I knew it was just a few weeks away. They were married at Felicia’s family farm outside Mt. Horeb. The weather forecast was for the hottest temps of the year and I came fully prepared to melt along with everyone else at the wedding. But it was beautiful. The farm is on top of a hillside and the breeze was heavenly, with no higher hills to stand in its way. I know we were all grateful for it. I don’t know how Felicia did so well keeping her cool (see what I did there? 😊 ) in all those layers of tulle under her dress. I would have been a sweat puddle on the ground but she was radiant. We did most of the photos ahead of the ceremony and tried to stick to the shade as much as possible. Felicia’s niece, Brooklyn, was the cutest little flower girl with so much personality. My camera couldn’t stay away from her all day, as you can see. The ceremony was in a field overlooking Blue Mounds. Their vows were personal and funny and sweet and you could really see how much they complete each other. Felicia is sarcastic and fiery and Will is steady and kind. He brings out the best in her and she lights up around him. I could see how comforted she is by him. She was nervous to be the center of attention but when Will was close by he made her calm…and a little more sweaty when I asked them to put their heads together, haha. Felicia had said when we met ahead of the wedding day that they wanted to just have a big party in a tent and have it be relaxed and casual- like a graduation party she said. That’s just what they got. Yard games and cold beers, good food and music and a gorgeous sunset and warm Fall night with those they love and who love them. It was an honor to be a part of the day. Thanks so much for tolerating the few times we pulled you away for photos. The sun was magical and I’m glad we were able to make the most of that wonderful light you get on the ridge. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Jennings! All the best to you and your family!
