Torina + Will | Madison Capitol Wedding | Madison, WI

In our first correspondence Torina described her and Will’s wedding day as “vintage glam”. I knew right away I was going to LOVE it. All they really wanted was to feel glamourous, tie the knot, take pics together and have a great, intimate house party with their friends and family. Totally my kind of wedding. They nailed the vintage glam feel, between her hair and fur coat and Will’s brocade bowtie, it was all spot on. They day looked just how they wanted, but more importantly felt just right. I can’t even tell you how fun it was to work with them. It was one of those rare times where I truly felt like I was just hanging out with them. Almost forgetting that I was there to take photos. I was flippin’ out at how rad some of the photos were (some profanity happened behind my camera- in a good way- when looking at the shots 😊) They were serving moody looks but then would giggle and fall into each other’s arms in the most perfect ways. Even though I had only known them for a very short time I could tell that this is who they are and how they are. Consumed in easy love. After the ceremony and photos at the Capitol we went to Torina’s parent’s house for a laid back cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception. The food was AMAZING (Torina’s family owns Fraboni’s Italian Deli so the spread was exceptional and beautiful to look at) and there was no shortage of laughs, dancing and drinks. Will and Torina shared a first dance and cut a cake and had some family members get up to say things about the two of them. I was struck by what Will’s dad said most. He had a wonderful speech about love and how love changes over time. He acknowledged that love, in the beginning, is fireworks and passion and so so different from how love looks and feels down the road. The common thread between first love and love 40+ years later is true friendship. If you don’t have that, love cannot sustain. True love with your partner is the ultimate best friend forever you have and that will last a lifetime and beyond. No question that’s what Will and Torina have. When his dad spoke I was teary eyed and then I broke down about it again later telling my dad of his words. What a huge honor to witness that bond and create memories for people on the most special day that celebrates that friendship, that love. I was so moved by their day and truly fell in love with their story, their hearts, and their friends and family. It was so special for me and that’s not always the case so THANK YOU. You guys are the best and I’m so happy our paths crossed. I hope they will again and again in the future. Congratulations!
