When I met Jayme and Ryan for their engagement session it was freezing, FREEZING. Like, negative temps kind of freezing. In fact, Ryan was supposed to have a hockey game that weekend but it was cancelled due to snow/cold/general winter wickedness so we finally had a weekend that became available to do the session. I sort of thought, man, are they crazy wanting to do photos in this weather!? But it was a blast. They kind of made me forget it was so cold because I was loving every second with them. The same thing happened on Saturday. Well, not exactly the same. We had the opposite end of the spectrum. It was blazing hot but these two managed it so well. They were hot and sweaty and all smiles. They never complained or said no to any ideas I had or places I wanted to go. And not only did the oblige, they were enthusiastic and amazing and so so patient. They made me forget all about the sweat dripping down my back. They were married at Olbrich Gardens which is a simply gorgeous backdrop for vows. The ceremony was short and sweet and they had shade and drinks waiting for their guests after it was over. From there we stopped at a tavern on our way to the reception at Devil’s Head. I was amazed at how Fall-like it already looks on the drive up there. There were pops of yellow and orange all around and as the sun went down those cooler Fall night temps rolled in. Sweet relief for a hot day. The reception was all kinds of wild fun with games and dancing and goofy shenanigans from members of the wedding party. It was a perfect day. Thank you guys for being so kind and patient and enduring the heat for photos. Thank you for introducing us to everyone and welcoming us so warmly. You two are incredibly sweet and compliment one another perfectly. We are so happy we were able to be a part of your day, meet your family and friends and celebrate with you all. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Sopha!
